In close collaboration with designers, we are developing principles for the application of Zephyr® mesh that explore the countless creative possibilities offered by this innovative material. Solid Studio presents the projects that are currently under development.

Draped

The building is draped in the mesh with an effect of effect of loose folds. The mesh is retained at the level of the the footbridge in a pleat that opens the access to the the pedestrian entrance to the car park.

Signage

Here the mesh acquires a signage function. Typographic elements manage the flow of traffic. The signage is hollowed out directly in Maille Zephyr for optimal clarity. These ambivalent elements change their meaning between the outside observer and the user of the building. The rational management of the flow dialogues with the meaning, with the opening to the outside.

Sunshade

This proposal explores the link between light and line. It will be a question of sliding the light along along the lines of the building. Depending on the orientation of the building, the areas of the façade most intensely exposed to sunlight are defined. Zephyr Mesh is then applied in (expandable) bands in a linear pattern that obstructs direct light to a greater or lesser extent depending on whether or not it covers a highly exposed surface. This arrangement allows for an unobstructed view while keeping the space shaded and cool.

Entanglement

This proposal is based on the notions of of entanglement, meshing and reticularity, mirroring the the multiple networks that the project brings into play. A specific rhythm emerges from the arrangement of the elements of the façade, the aim of which is to create between several elements, surprise, happy accidents... surprise, happy accidents...
